Budapest Airport, the operator of the capital’s Liszt Ferenc International Airport, is planning to launch an investment program costing HUF 50 billion, CEO Jost Lammers said in an interview published in Hungarian weekly HVG yesterday.
The program, which is called BUD 2020, is expected to include the construction of a pier at Terminal B, a hotel near the airport, and cargo and security developments.
Lammers said the dynamic passenger traffic growth experienced in the past few years justifies the expansion planned at the airport.
He noted that, in the first five months of the year, passenger traffic was up by 12.5% as compared to the same period a year earlier.
